Richard Jennings was born in 1976 and raised in Colorado. He has since lived & studied Art in Kansas City, MO, Memphis, TN, and Anna Marie Island, Fl. Six years ago he moved to Saint Louis, MO where he currently resides and produces paintings and woodcut prints.
In 2009 Jennings received considerable attention for the painting "Where Have You Gone Captain America?" The controversial political piece received an Honor Award from Art St. Louis and garnered a further exhibit at the annual St. Louis Honors Invitational. The piece is now the feature of posters, postcards & apparel.
In 2010 Jennings presented the collection entitled "City Stories"...an exhibit of large scale cityscapes that consisted of oil paintings and woodcut prints balanced severely against each other.
Nearly 18 months in the making "City Stories" was well received at it's May opening at Blu City in St. Louis and was then moved to The St. Louis City Museum for a requested second viewing.
Jennings has spent the last year working on his upcoming exhibit "Pop Impressionism" which will be presented summer 2011. He calls the new work "a very serious painterly study of the fantastic popular icons of my youth."
